Review summary

We chose Royal Caribbean because they are reasonably priced and have good reviews for gluten free and dairy free service. We were not disappointed. Our head waiter (Jerome) oversaw each dish to assure our needs were met, and we were able to enjoy all courses safely. We chose from the menu for appetizers and main dishes, and he came up with a surprise dessert after each meal. Everything was flavorful and we had plenty to eat-- not what we are used to at restaurants, where we cannot have appetizers or desserts, and everything is plain. Kudos to RC! Food for special diets is only in the dining room and buffet-- not snack bars. Room service was not reliable.

Our room was straightened multiple times each day, and very clean. Space was small, but, as a married couple, we don't mind.

Some shows were better than others. The visiting entertainers were much better than their own singers/dancers.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Not much variety.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
RC entertainers weren't that good, but guest entertainment was pretty good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service desk was rarely helpful. Our head waiter, Jerome Villars, was excellent.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

Plenty of space for a married couple. Might be tight for friends or more than two.

Ship tip

If you need special food, schedule your time so you can dine with the same head waiter when possible, and ask for help from a chef when eating at the buffet. Some chefs are better than others at helping, though.

Try to go in good weather, or dress for bad.

All the cruise lines offer gluten and/or dairy free if you ask. Same as vegetarian and/or vegan. It's not a big deal. We do it all the time. No problem.
