Review summary

Hi everyone, just got back from Alaska with Royal Caribbean - Serenade of the Seas. Cabin staff was excellent, so was check in procedure and Wait staff. Girlfriend got food poisoning once - food was quite good (not spectacular) otherwise. Spa was a total rip off. Services were adequate at best but overpriced and there was a HIGH pressure sales pitch at every turn. We were overcharged with a massage and no one would deal with it -0 each department kept referring us to another. Guest relations was particularly troublesome. Information sessions in gym were just more high pressure sales jobs and we were charged for them. Never again with Royal Caribbean for us. There are better cruise lines out there.

Wait staff was excellent, cabin staff was as well. Guest relations was horrible and arrogant. Overcharged us and wouldn't deal with it even though it was clearly their fault. We ended up getting it back from the Credit Card company but we were stunned at how they acted. Spa and gym staff only cared about their commissions on the "upsells". The whole ship was just one pushy salespitch after another.

Ship was very clean and lay out was as expected - not substantially different than different ships that I have been on.
