Seabourn Sojourn

20 Night Allure Of Aloha Holiday (Los Angeles Roundtrip)

Sail date: December 22, 2023

Ship: Seabourn Sojourn

Traveled as: Couple

Reviewed: 9 months ago

Review summary

Had the weather cooperated this cruise would of been a 10 out of 10. However mother nature gave us choppy swells of 15 feet both ways, no sun till Hawaii, and winds gusty to 18 knots.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Boarding in San Pedro was the best ever in all our years of cruising. Drove in from San Diego and within 10 minutes we were in our suite on deck 8

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The service is very good onboard. And the Grill is a dining experience which we were able to book 4 times on this 21 day cruise. The restaurant is the mdr and again the service and food is good, same applies to the Colonnade and Patio. My only complaint was the food is very bland and salt and pepper shakers are full of rice not salt or pepper.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Given the weather the pool was only used a few days. It was a crossing from LA and back. Fitness center is very small, but worked for me every day.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service onboard is always very good.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The Sojourn is an older ship, but kept up great. Great cabins, common areas and lots of places to hang out given the cold, windy weather.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin 829, deck 8 directly outside the Patio and pool. Our favorite deck given its location to the fitness center and pool patio area.

Ship tip

Enjoy this first class ship, great service and know that the food is ok not great.

Ports of call

Kailua-Kona, Hawaii

5 out of 5
Love this pory, access by tender and you are right in town. Fish Hopper is a great location for people watching and the best poke on the island.

Kahului, Maui

4 out of 5
As Lahaina isn't accessible you are in the industrial side, so plan on doing an excursion or walking to QKC and shopping

Hilo, Hawaii

5 out of 5
We love this port, however it's because we always lunch at the Hilo Yacht Club as reciprocal members.

Honolulu, Oahu

5 out of 5
We were here for two days, and NYE on the ship watching fireworks all evening was spectacular. If you are a walker, its a lovely scenic walk to Waikiki.

Nawiliwili, Kauai

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

Disembarkation

Wonderful, breakfast at 8 in the Colonnade, walked off the ship at 9, directly to our awaiting driver back to San Diego. Friendly port staff and baggage carriers.
