This was a fantastic back-to-back cruise, and one we will remember for a long time!
Embarkation
4 out of 5
We were on a back-to-back cruise, so no embarkation was needed in Singapore.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We mainly used the MDR for dinner, and the Horizon for breakfast and lunch. The standard of food again was excellent. Special mention needs to be made of the Ultimate Balcony Dinner which was a real treat and one we would highly recommend.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The art auctions were interesting, enjoyable, and well supported, although there did seem to be more of these than on previous cruises. We made daily use of the gym and really enjoyed the facilities. We also used the library which had a good range of books, plus some of the board games from there. The other highlight was using the spa at the very aft of the ship which gave brilliant views of the ship’s wake.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
We enjoyed MUTS, although we felt the range of movies was somewhat limited, and the stateroom TV options also were not as expansive as previously experienced on other Princess ships. We didn’t attend any theatre performances, but did watch some movies in the theatres on occasion. The performers at various locations around the ship were very good. For example, we sat in Crooners and enjoyed listening to the pianist, Craig Andrews, who was very entertaining.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Again, our stateroom steward, Kenneth, was very professional. He was right on the ball, very efficient without being intrusive, and responded quickly and happily to any requests we made. Our MDR waiters, Denchai and Angelito, also gave excellent service and added to the pleasant dining experience.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
We love the layout of the Sea Princess. Despite its age it is clean and well-maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We were delighted with our balcony stateroom, very roomy, clean, comfortable, and in an ideal position on the ship, as far as we were concerned.
Ship tip
If you really want to enjoy the aft spa, try it on formal nights when there are less people wanting use it.
We did the Princess excursion into HCMC which went to the lacquerware factor, Dong Khoi Street, and some time at a local market. This was a good tour which gave an excellent overview of the city.
We caught the shuttle bus to Pattaya instead of going into Bangkok for the day, and we had a great time at the bus terminus, the Bayview Hotel, and then at a nearby shopping mall.
