Review summary

First time doing a mini cruise and time went by far too quickly. Probably would not do another one as hardly seemed worth the effort to pack and board for such a short time. That being said, the cruise served its purpose of introducing some family members to the world of cruising. They enjoyed and say will cruise again when they can afford to!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Excellent effort by Port and Princess staff. Shame about the woeful facilities at Fremantle Passenger Terminal.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
All good

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Was an eating and sleeping cruise!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Pleasantly surprised at the high standard of entertainment - I didn't expect this on such a short cruise.

Children's Programs

Not travelling with a child young enough to participate

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Staff generally very good - friendly and attentive. Not able to develop the same level of relationships with cr as usually do on a longer cruise.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Standard Princess layout so was easy to get around. Family members cruising for first time found it complex - as do most first - timers. Ship getting on in age, but nevertheless still had an opulent feel.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Layout was better than some I have been in previously. Also, was pleased to see the lip in shower recess was high enough to prevent total bathroom flood with every shower - as happened on the newer Emerald Princess last cruise.

Ports of call

Fremantle (Perth), Australia

Albany, Australia

BUSSELTON (MARGARET RIVER), AUSTRALIA

3 out of 5
Only negative here was the extreme delay with tender service to return to the ship. Waited for an hour on the cold and windy jetty for a tender to appear. No explanation for delay or word of apology from Princess crew. Thank goodness the Busselton tourism staff looked after us by providing umbrellas.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Straight forward

Not a bad introduction cruise for your family. I would much rather do a 4 or 5-day cruise first time than a 14-day. I think you did good!
