I cruised with my 22 month old son and my mom. My grandpa and grandma were also with us but in the connecting room next door. We have all done lots of princess cruises and always loved princess. It was a shame princess allowed the sapphire to sail her first cruise since covid with so many known problems. I don't even know if I'll use my cruise credit they gave me for a future princess cruise. Very disappointing.
We still made the best of our vacation and had a blast while in ports.
Embarkation

Super quick, the whole process was maybe 10 minutes
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Main dining rooms were good for dinner. The prime rib night was excellent, as well as the BBQ ribs and the beef wellington was spectacular. The seafood didn't impress us, very bland. The buffet breakfast was not good at all, I think the bacon was rancid, it tasted like old oil and fishy.
Sabatinis was pretty good, I had the trio of lasagna/pasta.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Slightly boring activities like bean bag tosses and paper crafts. I would rather be in the pools.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The mariachi band was amazing we loved them.

The kids club air conditioning was broken and the room was at least 90°
Service and Staff
1 out of 5
Our balcony room (Baha 630) had no working air conditioning (completely broken), no working safe, no hot water in the shower, no working fridge and only 1 outlet worked. We told customer service from day 1. We were in Mexico with Temps of 100° and needed A.C as I had my 22 month old son with me. Our room had to have been about 90°. We couldn't even enjoy our balcony. They kept saying "we'll send someone to fix it" . It couldn't be fixed. My son had to sleep in any air conditioned spots we could find on the ship, our room was a sauna. We complained daily and finally day 8 we were moved into a mini suite (Dolphin 728). Our room steward Albert told us they knew the A.C was broken before we sailed and the Sapphire should not have sailed yet, most guests on Baha deck had no working A.C.... many people were given future cruise credit. We received $1200 each for a future cruise.
The waiters, room stewards and other staff were excellent as always. The problem is the big wigs that gave the "okay" for the Sapphire to sail when there was no air conditioning in many rooms and many other stateroom issues. 10 day cruise to Mexico with no A.C is unacceptable. They know about these problems and just yesterday embarked again for 15 days to Hawaii !!
On day 8 we were finally able to take warm showers and had a room with air conditioning. 🙌
Ship Quality

Pretty clean. The ship is older and showing age but was well maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom
1 out of 5
No air conditioning at all from day 1. Room was a sauna. The safe was broken so we couldn't use it ever. Only 1 outlet worked. The fridge was broken, they brought another 1- it was broken too, then they brought a 3rd and that one worked.
If we wouldn't have had all these problems I would give it 5 stars. Can't believe Princess knew the A.C was broken and still sailed. This was my 3rd cruise on the Sapphire Princess and my other experiences on this ship were excellent compared to this one.
Ship tip
Don't sail on a warm weather cruise on the Sapphire !!!
We were on this sailing as well. AC worked ok for us on Lido but the hallway was very warm to hot. Overall considering the few shortcomings it was a great cruise for us. Thanks for the review.
Sorry to hear about the lack of air conditioning in your cabin, it should not have taken so long to move you to a functioning cabin. We are on our second day cruising on the Sapphire from LA to Hawaii in Baja 739, so far everything is working well in our cabin.
