Review summary

Highly recommend visiting Portugal. We learned a lot and saw such gorgeous scenery. Even if I never got off the ship, I would've been satisfied. Going through the locks was an adventure in itself. It was nice not to have to make a decision about what to do - it was all arranged. The dinner at the winery was lovely - everything was so well planned. The trips to Salamanca, the archaeological site, the vineyards - all fabulous. But mostly, it was the crew that made the difference. From the attentive bartenders, table staff and front desk crew - they were really top notch.

Food and Dining

We were a little disappointed by the blandness of the food. Other UNIWORLD cruises had superb food and this was good but not great - just not inspired.

Service and Staff

The staff all knew our names and treated us so well. The manager, Maria has a great group of employees and it's apparent that they are a tight team. The purser and the tour guides were all excellent - great attention to detail and went out of their way to make sure we were having the best time. I can't say enough about the staff.

SUPER CLEAN!!

Cabin / Stateroom

The window was large and opened far enough we could lean out and enjoy the fresh air. The linens were great, comfortable bed and lovely (small but perfectly great) bathroom. A little tight - but it's a river cruise!

Ship tip

Weather is always an issue - bring layers. Bring shoes that are proper for ships. Don't overpack.
