Review summary

I loved the smaller ship experience. The service was outstanding and everything was clean and in working order despite the ship being on the older side. The food quality in the Windjammer and Main Dining Room was not consistent, but was mostly good...and great for being complimentary. The specialty restaurants were outstanding. The crew and staff were wonderful all around. There aren’t tons of fancy amenities on this ship, but it was just right for us—a younger couple not interested in a lot of partying or extra onboard activities—on a port-heavy itinerary with only 2 sea days. The Solarium is something I was looking forward to, but it was unbearably hot and smelled so strongly of chlorine we didn’t go there except to grab food. The main pool and hot tubs were pretty crowded when everyone wasn’t in port, so I didn’t get to use them as much as I planned. All in all, I am sure it’s not perfect for everyone but I would definitely sail on Rhapsody again.

We cruised Transatlantic December 2918 from Barcelona on Rhapsody and totally enjoyed the ship. Know what you mean about it not having the amenities of the bigger ships but we didn’t miss them, it was a totally laid back cruise. The crew was very good and we enjoyed great service. We asked about the roof on the solarium pool but they never opened it once on the entire Crossing! Too bad, to because the weather was very warm every day at sea. We’d definitely cruise on her again.

I don’t think the retractable roof on the solarium works anymore. It would be much better if they opened it.
