Review summary
If you have cruised before, one might board this ship and be underwhelmed. The Rhapsody is not the newest ship, but she is clean and more than adequate. The Captain was awesome as was the Cruise Director. The beauty of the Alaska trip is so worth seeing. We were able to get very close to the Sawyer Glacier inside the Tracy Arm Fjord. The shows were some of best quality I've seen while sailing. The food and food service was great. The ship is smaller, so you get to know more people and I really liked that feeling. We were a bit disappointed that Royal Caribbean does not make a stop in Ketchikan, AK. The Celebrity X ship that was with us the whole trip made that stop and all the people we spoke to said it was by far their favorite stop. That's not to say that Skagway and Juneau are not good places to visit, as they each have their own charm and beauty. We had an inside cabin about mid-ship on deck 4. It was quiet with no noise problems from clubs or the Centrum area. The Solarium area of the ship is peaceful and beautiful. The café in the Solarium is terrific. Overall, jump on and go! We are glad we did. We have had 5 Carnival cruises and two with RC. The differences are with RC there were less children aboard which is a plus for us as we have raised ours. The downside was the photographers seemed rushed and a bit abrupt. However, they don't hound you about getting a picture taken. The shops are smaller due to smaller ship and the prices seemed a bit higher in the shops. No negatives large enough to keep us from recommending RC and this cruise.Ship experiences
