Review summary
Overall we really enjoyed ourselves...probably too much. I am almost afraid to weigh myself. Checking in was fast but I suspect it was because we have cruised RC before and they definitely cater to those that repeat. The excursions were interesting and fun. In Juneau, we visited Mendenhall Glaciers, went whale watching (which was a blast) and visited Orca Point Lodge. OPL was a waste of time and the 'fresh salmon' was over cooked. I didn't see one bit of wildlife out there. Save your money on this one. In Skagway, we did the White Pas Trail and Yukon Visit. The views are amazing. We also visited a new suspension bridge and had bison chili. Yummy! In Victoria we did the hop on/off city tour. Apparently RC has their own version of the tour. We accidentally got on a regular bus and got a full city tour. We saw city highlights not on the RC tour. Fisherman Warf was cool too. The food on the ship was great. We even visited the asian specialty restaurant Izumi. Soooo good! The only complaint was breakfast in main dining g room. Options were limited and the food was not prepared well. Stick to Windjammer. We did a galley tour with the executive chef. Absolutely mind boggling to see how the dining operation is run. Was definitely eye opening. Lots if fun activities on the ship. The cruise director, Anna, is hilarious. She kept it fun. All in all a great vacation!Ship experiences
