Review summary

Loved this ship. The food was amazing. Speciality dining at Chops Grille and Giovanni's produced the best steak ever. Staff excellent. However wine on board is very very expensive. I paid $16 US for a bottle of wine in Honolulu and it was $50 US on board. A favourite place was the Champagne Bar

104 days and counting! On the Radiance sailing the top end in Feb. Woo hoo!! Third time doing this cruise. Love sailing through the Whitsundays and across the top. Just gorgeous. 😍

I work in food and beverage. I feel that the wine pricing is right on track with land based restaurants. Beverages are the most profitable items for any restaurant or lounge, thus there is always a 30-40% mark up. It's just the way it is. Same as on a ship. Also, if you have a beverage package, depending in the cost of the bottle, you can get 20-40% off the price which actually makes some bottles cheaper than what you pay on land.

The wine prices appear to be normal for any land based restaurant.

Beverage prices track with land based hotels and bars. I've always found it curious why there is an expectation that beverage prices should be the same as Costco.

Not arguing with anything you say. Should I want a bottle of wine aboard ship, or at a fancy land restaurant, I NEVER would expect the price to be cheaper than I could buy at a liquor/wine store. I do agree, more than three times higher seems excessive.
