Review summary

We had a 17 night cruise around Australia and New Zealand in Nov/Dec which was not what I was expecting. It was constant sell sell sell we had only taken a few steps on to the boat when it started which really is not the welcome you want! There were problems with our cabin door on 4 separate occasions while on the trip that it would not open the safe was the same but that was fixed on the first visit. The food on the ship was nice the seating area through the windjammer was dirty the floor had the same food and crumbs on the floor by the window for several days the chairs were stained and dirty which wasn't very inviting when you are about to eat, and the tables were not cleared. The tables not being cleared was not the staffs fault there just wasn't enough staff and if they did start clearing tables someone would come and get them to go and work in the windjammer area. Might I add it was very hard work at breakfast and lunch to get a table in that area. Our room was kept very clean but had seen better days! The sofa and chair in front of the mirror in the room looked dirty and shabby, we got clean towels daily but they were very thin often frayed on the edges and twice we had them with a hole in. They have 2 magnificent pool tables and on the second day my husband went to play but there were only 3 cues for 2 tables. The following day the end was broken off one of them but the pool competition carried on and they said next port they would get new cues. About day 7 only 1 cue remained despite my husband and several other passengers complaining no cues were replaced on our cruise. We also ran into a bad storm which stopped us sailing to New Zealand obviously no ones fault but more information on what was happening and where we were going would have been appreciated as we were 4 days at sea before we could finally get off. Also the trips were badly organised and we were never in the place we went to see very long, sometimes you had to decide did you want to see everything or go to the toilet and grab a quick drink on the way as there certainly was no time to do both. I am sorry to all you die hard Royal Caribbean fans but my list could go on, would you believe we don't normally complain or voice an opinion but we have been on other cruises with different companies and this was the worst. Suffice to say we will never cruise with this company again.

Just to let you all know I am not an old person or a fly by complainer, as it says in my review I have never complained before. My cruise experience was not the best and feel I should let people know about some of the things I was unhappy with they can obviously make their own minds up if they have already booked and are cruising on this ship. Hopefully unplugged your experience will be better, have a good one.

Actually, the OP had some good points as far as cleanliness and overall issues with the ship. Hopefully, my experience next week will not be so poor.

I notice it's the same people commenting on these reviews and I understand your die hard Royal Carribean fans but every one is entitled to an opinion that's what a review is all about. Its quite sad you have to comment on everyone you don't agree with yes you know who you are your names keep appearing over and over, time for you to get a new hobby I think! Everyone's opinion on how their cruise went matters.

As has been said before, you dont need to "have fries with that" and RCL is only mild in comparison with P&O I woyld say that the OP is another fly by complainer and will probably never return

all cruise companies on their ships do hard sell either drinks/ wine packages, merchandise, 'precious' gem stones or whatever. The money you paid for have very little margin of profits, hence they will try every effort to claw back maximum profits!
