Review summary

Our 3rd cruise on Radiance of the Seas, and the best one yet. From our cabin, to the ship's captain and crew, to entertainment, food, and decor, everything was superb.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
For the most part, food was quite good, and our waiter at dinner went out of his way to steer us to the best choices. No matter what special request we or our tablemates had, he cheerfully obliged us. Windjammer is always a pleasure, although there were a few times when it was so jammed that it took some time to find a table. Choices at Windjammer were very good.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Most of the shows offered were quite good. Of particular enjoyment was a young Italian singer named Santino who was joined by a small musical group, including the Rosario Strings. Every time they performed, often in the Centrum, it was literally standing room only, up all levels of the Centrum. He put on an outstanding show.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The captain of Radiance on this trip was the absolutely best we've ever had. His sense of humor and genuine friendliness to every passenger made you feel like you were visiting his home. Everyone on his crew that we came in contact with seemed to radiate his friendliness also. Our cabin steward was so attentive.....was so sad to say goodbye.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything throughout the ship was kept spotless and although elevators could get crowded, particularly at dinner time and when departing the ship for a port, it was pretty easy to overlook the cons when everything else was so great.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabins are very compact, but exceedingly well laid out, with enough room for all our clothes (even though we were on a 3-week trip, with 4 large suitcases----we took a 6-night cruise from San Diego up to Vancouver, then this cruise, and finally a 5-day land tour).

Pros: Ship's Captain/Crew and Scenery

Cons: Tenders to Juneau
