Review summary

A wonderful experience on a beautiful ship. So relaxing as there was always somewhere quiet that you could sit. No hoards of screaming kids! Quality service that added to the experience.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation in Civitavecchia was the easiest we’ve ever encountered. Since not everyone was getting onto the ship, it was much quieter with really no wait time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We loved having dinner in the Britannia restaurant each evening. We did flexible dining and were seated in many different places which we really enjoyed as we got to see the entire restaurant. It was lovely having a vegetarian menu as last time we sailed with RCL they had removed theirs. The food and service was always of a very high standard and all of the waiters were friendly and efficient.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
I loved that you could do as much or as little as you wanted on the ship. There were a variety of activities available.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We spent much of our time in the Queen’s Room where it was lovely to relax and listen to the musicians who were fabulous. We could watch the good dancers while listening. We went to the theatre a couple of times and really enjoyed both comedians. We only saw one show by the ship’s company which was ok but we have seen better. The show was very monotonous throughout although the performers were very professional.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I couldn’t fault the staff on Queen Victoria. Our cabin steward was great and really friendly and, any member of staff that we spoke to was helpful and friendly.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
We loved the design of Queen Victoria with its “golden age” decor. The Victorian style theatre and shops were really nice and added to the overall ambience of the ship. Our balcony could have done with a bit of painting on some of the metal and the rail but that would be easily completed. The layout of the ship was really nice with lots of little lounges, bars etc.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Beautiful! A nice size of cabin with a good sized balcony. Kept immaculately clean by our steward. If there was a negative, it was the size of the bathroom which was on the small side. Also, having a shower curtain isn’t ideal but neither of these things were major issues. Overall we loved our cabin and the amount of space we had, especially as we like to have breakfast in the cabin.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
This was as smooth as embarkation. We had organised transport to the airport with Cunard and that went very smoothly.
