Review summary

We thoroughly enjoyed this cruise. This was our first cruise on Cunard but it it won’t be our last. Don’t let the nightly dress code discourage you from trying Cunard.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We were on the ship and having lunch within 20 minutes of walking into the terminal.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was all very good except for the fish dishes in the main dining room, they were all over cooked. The buffet was good, and you have to try the pizza.

The Lido

5 out of 5

Great food.

Golden Lion Pub

5 out of 5

We ate here twice. The burger and the fish and chips were both very good.

Commodore Club

5 out of 5

Reyland was an excellent server. This is a nice quiet place to grab a drink.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We played several games in the casino but it was never really busy.

Casino

The casino was not busy at all. Thankful it was nonsmoking.

Afternoon tea was wonderful.

The shows were some of the best we’ve seen on a ship.

5 out of 5
All the crew was very friendly and helpful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was very clean and well laid out.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Our cabin was very clean. 5036 is an inside cabin. We found storage to be lacking but we managed.

Ship tip

If you plan on going to afternoon tea, show up early.

Ports of call

Gdynia (Gdansk), Poland

5 out of 5
Malbork Castle was awesome. Be sure to check out St. Mary’s Church and the clock that was built in the mid 15th century and still works.

Helsinki, Finland

5 out of 5
Overnighted here. Most museums are closed on Mondays, so if you are planning on seeing them be sure they are open.

Tallinn, Estonia

5 out of 5
This port reminded us of a fairytale town with wonderful buildings.

Klaipeda, Lithuania

3 out of 5
We found this port rather boring. The amber factory was interesting.

Goteborg (Gothenburg), Sweden

Loved this port.

The tip regarding afternoon tea is true even for Qn Elizabeth. I missed the formal opening ceremony. But I had a nice table to myself and really enjoyed. Though the dress code was outrageous: ball caps, tea shirts, jeans...gasp!😯
