Review summary

The balcony was useless. The staff seemed sad and unfriendly. The buffet was small and mediocre. But it was still a very nice way to get across the pond and I'd do it again. I just wouldn't pay for a balcony.

Embarkation

The lines were long, but once we actually got on the ship we were able to go STRAIGHT TO OUR CABIN! That was lovely!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
We stuck with the free restaurant and buffet. The buffet was so much smaller that I was used to on NCL and Celebrity. And it wasn't that great...

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The activities are different and more "mature" than on other lines. I enjoyed trying to learn to play bridge and the ballroom dancing classes. This is the first cruise I've been on that gave the dance on a deal dance floor, not just on a crowded few feet in the atrium and it made a world of difference!

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The comedian was great. Most shoes were fine. Rythm of the Night had truly bad singers though.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
My room steward and the higher-ups were great, but the regular staff you'd see in the kitchen and hallways seemed miserable and not very friendly.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
She's a little old, but she's a pretty ship. Once you figure out which stairway to use to go where it's reasonably easy.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The actual room was fine. The balcony was not. The drainage was bad, so there was a constant layer of water on foggy days - which was basically all of them. But my real complaint is that the doors to the hallway are not well sealed, so if you open your balcony door for a breeze there is a terrible whistling sound that was miserable. It wasn't just our room. You could hear different rooms whistling as you walked down the hall. Those 2 problems made my balcony practically worthless.
