This was our first cruise ever, we embarked at Southampton, sailed away to New york. There was plently to do during our week, and even though the weather got a little rough, didn't really notice it unless you headed out on deck. Next time I do a cruise I might go for a shorter one, in my opinion 8 days is too long, still had a good time.

We arrived at Southampton over 3hrs early- too excited to wait, never been at the docks before place is a little sparce but the staff were extremely helpful. Was very prompt at boarding, according to our tickets we were to be boarding at 13.00 We were in our cabin and unpacked by 12.30!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food was so delicious. The first meal we had was at kings Court after unpacking and strtching our legs. So much choice, was a little over phased. Finally came back with a delicious plate, hubby went after on his search for a meal. We were in Britannia Club and the meals there, along with service were of star quality. Hubby was quite daring and tried escargot! Must say to anyone to go to the Verandah if you can. It may be a little pricey but it def is money well spent, the steak is like butter, so delicious
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The gym is brilliantly equipped, made good use out of this during the week-you need to with the amount of food that is eaten! Found the pools quite small for the amount of people wanting to use them, an it is a real shame that the sauna and steam room is out of use unless you pay for it!
There are quite a lot of good activities but they all clash at 9.am it would be nice to spread them out, not leave quiz trivia left until the afternoon all the time.

The show we went to was brilliantly done
Service and Staff

Top quality, Special mention to our State room attendant Bert who went above and beyond, as well as to Emilia, Kenneth, Slivin and Krishna the staff who looked after us in the Britannia club restaurant

It may be of an old décor but it looks really nice in my opinion. Everywhere we went staff were either cleaning the areas, or tidying the place up, the commodore room was a place we found mid week is a gem of a place. It is designed in such a comfy homly way, I hid in here and fell asleep, just watching the view!
Cabin / Stateroom

Was the bed big enough! So much space, and the view we had, was perfect. Had tea and coffee facilities, extra fruit in our room, and the temperature was adjusted to suit our needs. The bathroom was clean with plenty of space
Ship tip
We loved the fine dining, we really did, but try and keep that to 3 times a week , and make use of kings court-wish we had
Very prompt.. After we sailed past staue of liberty I went back to bed, and woke up at about 7am. After we managed to get something to eat, sat around waiting until time to leave at 10.30, bags followed with no fuss
