Review summary

The Pride of Hawaii is a beautiful brand new ship! Everything sparkles and the decorating fits perfectly with Hawaii. We loved our trip and enjoyed each stop on the islands. Be sure to make reservations for your meals the first day on the ship - it fills up fast! Go for the islands and the beautiful ship, not the food or service - they were good, just not spectacular.

The shows are nothing to write home about. Most nights we found ourselves going to bed early to prep for the next day on the islands.

Service and Staff

It's an American crew, so the service is different than other cruises. The staff was very friendly and we got to know of few of the wait staff very well - they love to help you find fun adventures on the islands. It was fun to talk with them and hear their stories. However, we heard many people complain because they were not treated the same as on other ships. We never had a rude experience, but we also can see where this crew didn't follow thru on all details.

We had an inside cabin, which was small, but well designed. We were hardly ever in our room, so we didn't mind.

We loved Maui! We rented a car the first day and explored the island and took surfing lessons the second day. Wish we had more time on Maui.

We rented a car and drove to Volcano's National Park and went hiking. A must see!!! Talk to the rangers for the best hike to try for your experience level. Very fun!!!

Pros: Great way to see Hawaii!

Cons: Service and Entertainment on ship somewhat lacking.
