Review summary

A really enjoyable cruise on POA. We were on the June 10, 2017 sailing. Crew could not have nicer and more accommodating. We ate most of our meals in the speciality restaurants: Jefferson's bistro, Moderno, Cagneys and Teppanyaki. All were very good and Jefferson's and Cagneys were outstanding. The rooms (balcony on 9 and ocean view on 4), were comfy, clean and well maintained. The Islands were amazing and the tours enjoyable. All in all if you are looking to see Hawaii via a floating hotel - highly recommend. Happy to answer any questions. Jeff

We booked 3 excursions with NCL - a beach day on Maui (so so), Waimea Canyon on Kauai (amazing; the other included stops with this tour not so much), but since the boat departs at 2 we wanted to have the security of NCL in case we ran late, and a half day food and snorkel boat trip on Kona (very fun). We booked 2 tours with Roberts - the luau river combo on Kauai (good) and a late morning trip up to Haleakala crater on Maui (beautiful). We also booked two private trips direct - sunrise on Haleakala and a 22 mile bike trip down (amazing) with Haleakala Bike Company on Maui and a private island tour on Hilo side with Island Wide Family Tours (Kyle is one of the owners and a great guide).

The boat has a lot of things to keep you busy if you don't want to get off for excursions. However, the ports you pull in to are cargo ports and not close to a lot of sites, so you would either have to book a tour or a car if you want to get off the boat.

Just checking to see if there were things to do without booking excursions
