Review summary

We never met a ship we didn't love and, as we heard on this cruise, "There's no such thing as a bad cruise; some are just better than others." Given the challenges of a prop failure, water line breaking, toilets and keys not working, we still enjoyed our 12 night ADVENTURE - after all, we only paid for 10! It was certainly a cruise to remember tho' I'm sure NCLA will spend plenty trying to help people forget. Most disappointing was our first encounter with an all-American crew.

Ports of call

Kahului, Maui

5 out of 5
Need to get out of Kahului, but... Maui, too, has many wonderful places to see. The need for a car to get out of town reduces the attractiveness of this port. If you don't leave Kahului the ALE HOUSE is nearby; it's the crew's favorite local watering hole. Sports bar - good food, etc.

Hilo, Hawaii

5 out of 5
Another beautiful island. Again, easy rental car arrangements if you prefer doing the driving yourself.
Don't Miss: Volcano park is great, but don't expect to see lava up close and personal. Be sure and catch the lava

Nawiliwili, Kauai

5 out of 5
Beautiful Island - Easy access to rental cars at airport. A lot of time to explore a great deal of the island on your own.
Don't Miss: Waimea

Kailua-Kona, Hawaii

5 out of 5
Lovely little town - didn't get very far away. Tender service seemed unecessarily tedious. Long waits on tenders while crew waited to fill them up.
