Review summary
Skagway was hands down the best part of the trip. The ship was excellent (other than hard mattresses which no one in my group enjoyed). Room attendant was great. Rest of staff were excellent. Wish there were more options for entertainment like music more relaxing, movies held inside instead of on deck (too cold and windy). WHY are there virtually No sugar-free options available for diabetics? What was available was really good, but extremely limited on choices. Also, we lost Juneau as a port of call when a crewmember had an accident and the ship had to be re-routed to get close enough for a med-helicopter to come pick him up. The supposed compensation was an extra couple of hours on other port stops. We got into Juneau six hours late and were there literally long enough to get off the ship, then turn around and get back on. No mention of any kind of partial reimbursement from the cruise line, nothing like a free spa visit, NOTHING! I had fun on the trip, but it wasn't worth what it cost.Embarkation

Ship tip
Be aware the mattresses are HARD. As in the firmest I have ever experienced. If you are used to softer bedding you might not be comfortable.
