All in all, we enjoyed the cruise. We do not recommend our actual room, 10232 due to noise they can't fix, but did like the room structure. If your child is under 42 inches, I would recommend another cruise as there isn't a lot for them to do on the boat and there are many days at sea. Do not book private excursions on Maui nor Kona as you tender and cannot control what time you arrive!
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Fast paced, which is nice, but you go all over the huge building so wear comfy shoes!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Pay the $199 a person for unlimited specialty dining! So worth it. The quality of food is SO much better than main dining and even Coastal Kitchen--that is a joke on this boat.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
There were a ton of different options to do during the day. However, unless your child is 42 inches or taller, they won't be able to do any of them!
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The entertainment options were really slim. A lot of old 50-70s music performers---so that needs to be your jam.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
Kids clubs were awesome as always, but unless your child is over 42 inches, they can't participate out side of the kids area and in the kids areas too.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
A lot of attitudes on this boat across the various types of staff. There were a handful of amazing ones, but more attitudes than I have ever come across.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
We really liked the room overall but there was a knock that they could not fix that drove us crazy. Do not buy this room in particular.
Ship tip
Maui and Kona are tenders, so do not plan for private excursion times!
There is a lot of traffic in Seattle, so if you venture out on your own be aware to give yourself a lot of extra time to come back. There is a ton to do in Seattle. Only 2 excursion options from the boat, which is sad.
We rented a car for the two days. Makai glass was amazing!! A must see. The art here is crazy good!! Be sure to check out the vast galleries. The pineapple is a must here too.
Did you ever work out what the knocking noise was? Just curious as I am going on a cruise on the Ovation next year, not the same cabin but similar. Thanks.😊
