Review summary

Overall, we had a fun time. The ship and the staff were great - but there were issues which seem to be mainly to do with the dining, as described above. The buffet was very busy and it was impossible for our family of six - we tried various times and abandoned the idea. The ports we visited were probably chosen to be appropriate for the size of ship. We loved Japan and the Japanese people - but I don’t feel we saw the best of Japan. Hong Kong was brilliant and the highlight of he holiday -so much to do and see.

That is good point that a cruise vacation will only expose you to parts of a country that are at or very near the ports. You will certainly miss a lot but that is a good reason to return. If you want to eat together with a group you will need to use the restaurants or be willing to carry your buffet tray a ways till you find a space.
