Review summary

Could not sit on balcony and see anything because of metal railing. Most rooms had plexiglass railings but ours did not. We PAID for a balcony and got no kind of discount nor was anything said that indicated some rooms had "obstructed view" balconies. This was a special 50-year anniversary cruise for us and the first time we had cruised with HAL. I would never book with them again.

Food was average. Discriptions on menu were "pretentious" and did not reflect the actual item you would get.

Compared to Princess tours, HAL tours were pricey.

Barely enough room for beds although it included a small sofa, table, and chair (which were useless because of cramped conditions.)

Pros: Rapid embarcation and debarcaction

Cons: Paid for balcony but balcony had "obstructed view" :(

Recommends Oosterdam? No.
