Review summary

Nice cruise, but we realized it was too short. While the staff was okay, overall they were not as friendly or helpful as we have found on previous cruises with Royal. This was the largest ship we have been on in our 14 RC cruises, and I think we prefer the smaller ships. The larger ships are better for families with young children.

The Windjammer was total chaos, with kids running everywhere and no parental supervision. We only went there twice. Main dining room and other food options were excellent.

Entertainment

We didn't know about many of them because we couldn't find listings through the app. Everything had to be done through the app, whereas we used to have a printed cruise compass. We were 4 days into the trip until we figured it out. The app is not very user friendly.

Children's Programs

Our four children are grown.

Service and Staff

Room steward was great, waiters were great. Other staff such as Customer Service and other staff were not very friendly and not enthusiatic about their jobs or anxious to help us. The photographers looked bored.

Ship tip

Be ready for lots of kids (two of them ran and nearly knocked me down). Be sure to have a smart phone and get familiar with the Royal app.

If you go on another Royal Caribbean cruise, you can get a printed cruise compass, but you have to go to guest services to ask for one. I only did this once of my most recent cruise. Not sure how long this option will be available (because things change) but the option is there now.
