Yes and yes. My wife had a gallbladder attack while we were in Bonaire. We went to the hospital there and ultimately flew home from aruba (next island on the1 next day). No way I was willing to let them operate on her. Insurance covered it all. We always travel with insurance and hope to never need it, but if you do then it's the best investment.

I always carry travel insurance! You never know what could happen when you are in a foreign county. Even if it’s in Mexico or the Caribbean and you are injured, your personal insurance will not cover it. I buy a yearly plan from Allianz because we travel a few times per year. Better safe than sorry that you didn’t have coverage.
