We went on and didn't have to pay. Check as soon as you board to reserve a free spot. It was an interesting view of the ship with another 6 people on the space. I wouldn't pay for the experience but enjoyed the 10 minutes from start to finish.

There is a complimentary experience on North Star which lasts about 10-15 minutes. If you’re not sure you want to spend the money, do the complimentary experience and then decide if you want to do the extended experience.

North Star is nice but not if you afraid of heights. it hold about 12 to 15 people in it. I can't remember what I paid, it was a few years back on another ship.

I have a few times. From what I was told, when ship is in port, it only goes up but does NOT rotate but when ship is out at sea, it goes up and does rotate. could be wrong but that is what I heard.

We did it in port when it's free. More to see but it just goes up and down. When at sea they rotate it around the ship.
