Review summary

The cruise was fun and had a lot of activities. The food went a little downhill as the cruise went on but the drinks were consistently good. I was hoping for more time at the ports, I feel like the all aboard times were way too early especially Barcelona being 5:30 PM. La Spezia was a disappointment because our excursion only gave up 1.5 hours to explore the city of Florence. I probably would not do another European cruise but would go on a cruise where the destinations were more beachy, less historic.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was great at first but then it got very repetitive by the 3rd/4th day. The main dining started serving the same foods. Also one big complaint was the french onion soup that really just tasted like cold salty water. The Prime rib was great. Most of my dinners were between a 6 and 7 out of 10. I went to the sushi restaurant and was pretty underwhelmed by the food, was upset I spent 40 dollars on it. Drinks were a solid 10/10 the full trip. I also loved the passed apps in the diamond lounge. One major complaint was also the lack of food options past 10pm, the options were either pizza or the cold soggy sandwiches from the 5th floor dining and they were both not ideal. Mostly since the bars are open until 12 or later, I did expect there to be better food options late night.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I did not utilize that many on board activities but there were a lot and seemed always available. We did go to the Solarium pools and the card rooms that were great.

Entertainment

Overall the entertainment was great.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Best thing about this cruise was the service and staff. Everyone was friendly and eager to help in anyway. 2 dining standouts were Sykes and Maltmayor! They were phenomenal servers and people who really made our dining experiences unforgettable. Our room staff was also incredible.

Ship Quality

Overall I loved the design and the space all together. My one complain is that the music was sometimes so loud in one area that you could hear it everywhere else. I got a night couples massage and could clearly hear the rock music coming from the main floor, we even felt the bass vibrations which completely threw off our massages. The bathrooms were very clean which I loved.

I did not have any issues with the room! It was great!

Ports of call

Naples, Italy

We did the ischia day trip which was great. I did wish there was even a hour extra that we could go into Naples.

Barcelona, Spain

We loved that the port was right in the city! We did not do a planned excursion here. We did wish we had more time here. Coming back by 5:30PM was way too early.

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

We cancelled our beach excursion this day due to weather but enjoyed walking around the city as well.

La Spezia, Italy

This unfortunately was a pretty bad experience for us due to the excursion. We did the Florence by electric cart tour which said we would have 3.5 hours in Florence and then an hour cart tour of the city which would end with a stop at an artisanal shop. After the 2 hour bus from the port to florence, we reached at 12:00 and were told we had to be at our cart stop by 1:55 which is less than 2 hours of free time. And to make things worse, the guide made us go into a leather shop and cut more of our time. We could only stay a few blocks away and get food in that time. We missed seeing any art including the David and just felt like we missed out of everything. We then got to the cart ride and it felt more like 45 minutes in traffic than a cart ride though the city. After this disappointing experience, we were then brought to another leather factory and then brought back to the ship. All in all, a really bad excursion and I wish we just explored the city on our own.
