Review summary

It was a great cruise. Royal always impresses. On an oasis class ship, the ship is the destination. Great ship, great service, great time.

Embarkation

Cape Liberty is always a well oiled machine. Practically a walk on at 12:30 pm.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Everything was great. We got the drink package and a specialty dining package. We made good use of both. I have weird food allergies and the staff were extremely attentive about it. The food was good and worth the package's money at all locations. The drinks were all well made and the bar staff was mostly attentive and personable. At shows there were plenty of staff asking if you wanted a drink.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We liked all shows and our cruise director Elvis Pinto. The best show was Aqua 80, we watched it twice as it was too good. We also enjoyed the ice show, cats, and the aviation themed theater show. The ships live musicians and DJs were pretty good as well. Nights were never boring. The only slight thing we didn't like was that we didn't have a sail away party, but I think it might have been weather related as we left during heavy wind, rain, and slight waves.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
By far the best we've experienced post restart. I can literally only think of one staff member who was less than perfect (he ignored my order to flirt with someone). All of the rest were so attentive, charismatic, and service oriented. Our cabin was immaculately cleaned.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This ship could accommodate almost 7000 passengers but you would never know it. The design of the ship was done so well that no area ever felt so crowded, even the buffet and pools. As usual royal does a good job cleaning the ship. Tables were quickly cleaned, spills on the floor were cleaned, we always saw someone wiping handrails. The ship's furniture was a little worn but nothing ugly or unusable.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We had a central park window view balcony. It was my favorite room ever. It had a lovely couch next to the window and I would just sit there and people watch and doze off to nap. The room was a bit dated decor wise but clean, spacious, and functional. I am only taking one point off because I think this room needs slightly more storage space, we could not fit all of our clothes in the drawers and had to somewhat live out of our luggage. With a slight remodel, it would be perfect. Bathroom was clean and spacious.

Ship tip

Book it.

Cape Liberty is always quick and easy. We did self walk off and we did not have any long waits.
