Review summary

Was ok we have cruised anthem of seas and granduer and loved both. Perhaps just too big of ship for us but have sailed many NCL large ships and loved except for their tiny atrium they try to do everything in I felt like it was one step above what I know of carnival. I had to try it and have same cruise booked in September with daughter in own room. We now know some of the ins and outs of this ship and will make the most of it but will probably not ever cruise on oasis class again even if we have to spend more money. Next cruise is celebrity summit and believe this will meet our needs. Any cruise is better than no cruise.

Embarkation

I do have to say RCCL has the fastest and easiest embarkation just don’t get behind someone who can not find some boarding doc on their phone. Do yourself a favor have a printed copy of everything as backup. Love the iPad check in.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
My wife is gluten free and most the staff never asked or could not assist. Had the key and UDP. Key lunch in main dining room not worth it, shrimp cocktail was tiny. Better off going to specialty lunch. I will start with mar, tried breakfast and had to send back runny scrambled eggs maybe that is just us but not our cup of tea. Table cloths and curtains were stained totally disgusted me. Like most have said supply chain issues. No gluten free soy sauce in Izumi, they said they have not had for two months. A lot of wines not available. We probably had some new servers as 150 could not supply us with a wine list but chips and Giovanni could, strange and we bought a few bottles. Sushi was great bbq was good brisket a little fatty. Chops and Giovanni good 150 ok and was surprised by that. Deserts nothing to rave about.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Mini golf was fun. Solarium was a mad house no seats and breakfast there was crazy with a line and no seats. Mostly watched others on flow rider zip line and dodge ball

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Minus cats, please change this show. All others were fantastic. Loved aqua80, ice show, music hall “generation idol”

Service and Staff

Room steward recardo was great. Possibly too many people for number of staff

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The biggest problem with ship is most places you do not see the ocean. Most areas were clean except for stained curtains and table clothes. It mostly felt like you were in a big mall. On high up floors outdoors you are not close to ocean.

Cabin / Stateroom

Bed was like sleeping on a box. AC barely worked. Mini fridge was not a fridge but a cooler that barely kept anything cold. After 3 or 4 days of this complained and they changed out cooler better. Replaced something AC worked one day then was hotter. Double duvet on bed little better. Tried a boardwalk balcony, noise was no problem loved the chairs and big table for morning breakfast. We should have done ocean view probably would have liked better. We had already booked this same cruise for September with daughter chose ocean view and upgraded our room to junior suite. This all due to availability and cost.

Disembarkation

Had the key but did nothing for us. Gave us late ala cart breakfast but then told us to get priority departure we had to get off at 6:45. Not what note said. So we stood in a line that went from elevators to aqua theatre then back up side of ship to gangway. The rest was easy.
