Review summary

Loved every minute of my cruise. Docking every morning & watching it from my balcony is the most amazing experience that you can’t describe to anyone unless they’ve experienced it for themselves. I’ve got the cruise bug now & can’t wait for my next one 🙂

Food and Dining

We ate most of our meals in the Windjammer. Always a great selection of food & it suited us as we like to try different foods. We found we couldn’t relax in the main dining room as the waiters were constantly coming over to chat to us which is fine but we had our kids with us & we just wanted to enjoy your dinner as a family & felt they were always there standing over us. We ended up only eating in Silk twice which was a shame as the decor is beautiful & the food was lovely but we couldn’t enjoy the experience. Johnny Rockets do a nice breakfast

My 3 year old loved Adventure Ocean. He was happy going in whenever we brought him. My 12 year old found the teen club a bit boring but we put that down to the fact that we had mostly port days & it was during school term so there weren’t that many teens onboard

We had an ultra spacious ocean view room which can hold 6 but there was only 4 of us so we had plenty of space. There was a separate area behind a curtain with bunks for the kids which was great

Ports of call

Naples, Italy

I loved that you can just walk off the ship & straight into the city at this port. It was nice to dock & sail away at this port while being able to watch the hussle & bussle of Naples. Nothing prepared me for the culture shock that hit me when we got off the ship. There is hundreds of taxi men coming over offering to bring you wherever you want to go & the traffic is really loud & fast. I found it quiet intimidating while trying to get out of the port with my kids but it’s all part of the experience I guess. We walked around the city for a few hours & had the most amazing pizza from a side street restaurant

La Spezia, Italy

We did a half day excursion to Pisa. Didn’t have much time but we got our photos with the tower & grabbed a gelato on the way back to the bus. There definitely wouldn’t have been enough time to go into the tower but we hadn’t planned on doing that anyway.

Marseille (Provence), France

Beautiful city. Didn’t do an excursion but walked around for a couple of hours. Be sure to pick up some handmade soaps at this port as they are made from completely natural ingredients & are very reasonably priced!
