I will be going back in 2025 to cruise Antartica again and then i hope to fly to South Africa and cruise the NCL Dawn a couple of cruises and then reposition to Barcelona for 22 days. I hope the prices drop a couple months before like it did last year.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The buffet has limited seating, so please leave as soon as your finished lol. The Main Dinning was most excellent, especially near the Stern.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Every Sea Day they have indoor games against fellow travelers between the Casino and the Door to the Theatre. Ring Toss, Bocce Ball and a Whacky Putt Putt. The Gym was nice but you have to pick the time as its tight.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Magicians, Variety, Musical Guitars, Production Shows and Singers. All great and entertaining even the Comedians?
Children's Programs
a few kids on ship, maybe couple dozen teenagers with families. All respectful
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
I found the staff to be very responsive to any needs i had.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
I thought to myself that this small ship was going to be so old and ugly, but i had to take her if i was ever going to go to Antartica. Was i wrong, this ship has been maintained very well, the layout was excellent for viewing Antartica outside as it had wind walls that seperated and stair step increases for everyone to see over each other between wind walls. It was clean inside and out, maybe it was refurbished not that long ago...cannot remember?
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
I just use this to sleep and bathe in, the ship is where the fun is happening. Its dark and quiet down there lol.
Ship tip
If your going to the Buffet find a table and leave something personal on it, then get your food. People do not mind sharing a table if they have an opening, so just ask.
Alot to see, I spent 2 days after the cruise there. Hop on Hop Off bus tour and lots of walking. I even towed my luggage from the Cruise Terminal to my Expedia Hotel called Palacio Paz Hotel located about 1.3 miles a bit uphill.
Do not forget to note the All Aboard time, not the time the Ship leaves in the Itinerary. I am a veteran cruiser and I was the last person to board...They almost left me...I was 20 minutes past and 10 minutes from ship pulling ropes. yikes
Hot and Sunny, did a hike to the viewpoint across the bay approx 2.5 miles oneway. Cool Breeze along the sandy beaches they have a pretty good walkway.
What you going to say about the Southernmost City in South America. If the Clouds were not hiding the mountains it would have been a spectacular site. I have the postcards though. Its cool here and breezy. I just walked around the town on the hillside searching for those South Pole/Antartica Souviners just incase we did not make it to Faulkland Islands!!!!
Nothing Compares, there was a song i heard once but it didn't have anything to do with Antartica. You can see for miles and miles, it was so clear and quiet and cool (literally) Everyone outside was wearing coats as if they were in Antartica? I wore a Hoody with a windbreaker, thermal underwear and hiking pants. I run hotter than most but i was shielded by the railing for 6 hrs outside on the Bow. No wind that day and probably 0 degrees, fingers got cold but i couldn't take pictures with gloves on. i survived you will too. Get to the Bow, they open it up but it fills up fast...everyone vying for a spot...honestly it got a bit combative with a few passengers being pushy and maybe those long lenses they swing in your face...there was one guy who had enough and put his hand in front of the lense for the guy? I just think the camera man did not think about what he was doing when he swung that thing around.
Maybe i missed something here, but after Paradise Bay and the day cruising the Pennisula. We did see more Wildlife, Penguins swimming and Whales blowing off and swimming right next to the ship. I got one photo of Penguins on the Ice...but they were babies real small lol.
This is where those Baby Penguins get hatched and there are many excursions to get you too them. The town is not too big so you can walk the downtown. I took a tour of the countryside. There is a dog about 3 blocks from the dock, he likes you to throw him the tennis ball....he drops it over the fence for you too throw it back over.... All Day Long!!! Real Cute to watch.
