Review summary

We were extremely fortunate that cruising the straits of Magellan and the Drake passage we had a very smooth ocean and with great sunny weather for all but one day when cruising by Deception and Elephant Island. Only mishap was we were not allowed to tender at Stanly (Falkland Islands), most of understand that safety is most important.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Norwegian's computer was not working when I tried to check-in, this set my embarkation back two hours. they waiting area and order for calling to check-in was not predictable or quick

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
specialty dining was excellent, but for the cost they could have been better. buffet was a zoo atmosphere and half closed most of the time. The set down dinning was as expected. service was generally very good.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
not much to do aboard ship-drink-gamble-not what we wanted. The saving grace was that three Antarctic experts gave many informative lecturers and were very informative and entertaining.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
I didn't like most of the entertainment. and the singing was much to loud, my ears ached for a day after. The magician was very good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
was very good. Many were excellent. I noticed that there were fewer servers per cruiser than on many ships.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship showed it's age and had several maintenance issues and showed much wear. Ship was always kept clean!

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
No complaints except for a premium room we didn't have much space and bathroom was small. These concerns seem to apply to most all ships and cruise lines.

Ship tip

The ship is adequate, servers are above average. Book if you like the itinerary and price.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
We scheduled an excursion before being transferred to the airport. Disembarkation is always a drag and we are all but pushed off the ship.
