Review summary
We had sailed Norwegian once in the past and absolutely hated it. However, Norwegian was the only cruise line offering this itinerary and it was so unique we decided to try again. Turns out this was a good move. This boat (the Star) was MUCH better than the Jewel. The staff was friendly, the boat was cleaner, the entertainment surprisingly quite good.
The only downsides were the food was odd. The dinner menu paired things awkwardly, vegetables were nothing but garnishes, the desserts were horrible, and they did not offer food from the region we were in. Lastly, dinner was served at a glaciers pace.
Lastly, we like to keep our balcony door open at night to hear the waves but the air conditioner in the room was linked to the door. So if the door was open the air was on full blast and you could not turn it off. This meant the room was ice cold all night. The heat could not be turned on or up. The only way to turn the air off (or heat on) was to shut the door.

Ship tip
Absolutely get a balcony on this itinerary. There is just too much to see and at night in some of the waters you could see dolphins chasing and playing by the boat.
