Review summary

A very lovely ship. Food was excellent and we didn't even try the specialty restaurants. We personally like being seated with the same people each night and don't care so much for the "freestyle" cruising, but it worked well for us on this cruise as we brought our handicapped son along, and keeping a schedule is harder with him. We would prefer less specialty restaurants and more amenities such as a theater, or an indoor pool for general use. Entertainment was good with good variety around the ship. Something for everyone. Most of the staff was very nice although I did encounter one bartender that was a bit rude. I was really surprised. Our balcony room was a bit small for three people; we couldn't get out the balcony door when the sofa bed was open, and closet space was tight. The shelves inside the closet were very hard to access. There were days when our room was still not made up at 1:00 PM even after we had been out of it for several hours. Overall we had a good time but have been happier with some other ships.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining room food was wonderful. We missed having an omelet bar in the Market Cafe.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Ships dancers and singers were above par. Some real talent there. Ship in general could have had a few more activities.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
With the exception of the above mentioned bartender, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The bartender actually commented on my lack of tipping him!

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship was easy to move around on, nice glass elevators in the atrium. Public areas were very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Room was too small for three people. Bathroom had sliding doors to separate off the toilet and the shower. The shower was big enough, but the sink and toilet area were both too small. Since the partitions didn't afford any real privacy, the space would be better combined into one large area.

Ports of call

Astoria, Oregon

Didn't get off the ship this time as it was very cold, but last time we were here we did
Don't Miss: Trolley

San Francisco, California

All the ship's tours left town! We stayed in port and took a vintage car tour.
Don't Miss: Mr Toad's Vintage Car Tour. Great narration and a fun tour.

Victoria, British Columbia

Lovely spot in the world.

Pros: Ship was decorated beautifully

Cons: Lack of information about ports
