Review summary

We went on the ncl spirit for an 11 day med cruise and loved it. We had a balcony room (9082) on deck 9 mid ship. This accommodates 3. There is room under the bed to store your luggage which gives you more room in the closet. We had previously cruised with ncl and enjoyed the flexibility of eating when you want. The shows every night were terrific. The last show was truly the best, my daughter felt sad because it was end of our trip. She is 12 and did not want to join the kids club, so I will not be writing a review on that. Important to note for anyone that has any food allergies or restrictions, they do try their best to accommodate and the food is labeled. You can easily ask the cooks and they will tell you all the ingredients. Due to my daughter's allergies, she is vegan and we were allowed to bring water on board so she can have her protein shakes and also bring protein shakes on board along with any other dry snacks. We did find enough food for her on the ship, but were mainly limited to the buffet. Dont spend the money purchasing water from the ship. Use the water onboarding and bring a refillable water bottle. I didn't buy the drink passage since my husband doesn't drink much and if there are 2 adults, both would have to buy the package. Word of caution, there is a 20 percent charge everytime you order a drink. For this reason, I did not tip when I ordered. About halfway through the cruise, there Is a 19.99 sale on laundry services....whatever you can fit in a bag. So long as you roll and organize the clothes, you can fill it up to the top. We got it back in 2 days, nicely folded and worth it. We did a combination of tours on our own as well as 3 tours from the ship. The best one was The Game of Thrones Tour since I am a huge fan. The other ship tours were pisa and florence on your own so they just provided transportation and a map. The other tour we took was in Sicily with highlights of Taormina. Overall, the cruise was great with awesome ports. There was only one major issue in Cannes as they didn't have enough tender boats and it took us 3 hours to get off the ship. This could have been handled better, but they didn't even offer a way to compensate, they just apologized. Our room steward was Joy and he was great. Our room was very clean and we loved those towel animals. The staff overall were great. These people work very hard. I would recommend this cruise.
