We felt safe during the day excursion with our guide. We went out at night by ourselves and it was questionable. Only because we were there on a Tuesday and there weren’t many people out so we felt like we were the only people out. The locals are friendly however we found that at night they send kids out to beg for food or money.

Yes In Havana we felt safe during the day. Some people were begging for money. I would do a guided walking tour so you get to know the lay of the land. Don’t book an excursion through Norwegian....way too expensive. Book one on your own, for example Tropicana- very safe at night and lots of security outside. Everyone pays $75+ to get into the club. Went to a square at night near the ship- lots of restaurants and music, Cuban police- our tour guide pointed out the square that it was safe
