Review summary

Over all this was a fantastic weekend getaway and thank NCL and my company for sponsoring this opportunity, the major pluses of the ship for me is the sophisticated design and colors, the size of the bathrooms in all cabins, the many included food options and quality of food when served, the many activities available, the Thermal Spa area and treatments rooms, entertainment and the overall service given. The misses in my opinion communication in all areas, example is Indulge Food Hall, so busy and no direction on how to proceed except told to find a seat and order from tablet except if you find a seat at one specific food area at the bar you can only order from their menu and not others, as this is a very popular area most of the time, the only seats available were at the bar area for individual food areas, also very confusing about how to get drinks like water and lemonade and each tablet keep saying all drinks were sold out. Definitely need to revamp the venue areas to allow more guest to attend shows or offer more sets in each venue including the main stage which should offer some afternoon shows and not just evening shows. I had a wonderful cruise and hope to visit NCL again in the near future.

Embarkation

very smooth, I arrived early so I had a bit of a wait but the process once allowed to begin was smooth and quick

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
For the most part the food was great, there were a few misses with food temp at the Surfside Café buffet and the Indulge Food Hall but overall one of the best food experiences I have had while cruising, I chose Cagney's Steakhouse for my specialty dining experience and the food was perfect and delicious, everything was prepared to perfection and the desserts were the best overall.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
I tried just about everything available on the ship, go carts, putt-putt and Galaxy Pavilion. We really enjoyed everything we tried but was blown away by the go cart experience and really wish we could have signed up for another ride. Do to an injury I was not able to try the different slide options but it seemed most were enjoying the experience however some riders would have trouble making it to the bottom of the rush slide without having to scoot along. I also purchased a spa pass for the weekend and enjoyed the experience greatly, hopefully they install the jets for one of the pools soon and get the infrared spa room working, so many different options to enjoy including, steam room, salt room, charcoal room, Finnish sauna, shower experience and ice room. Plus the whole relaxation area with heated loungers and multi days bed with floor to ceiling windows looking out over the ocean at the bow of the ship

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Amazing experience, Donna Summer is probably the absolute best cruise line show for talent I have ever seen and heard absolutely fabulous. Price is Right was very entertaining and realistic to the TV program, I was fortunate to be able to attend both, most were not able to reservations because not enough seats for all guests with limited showings, also great music all around the ship but some of the venues are very small and had limited seating ie: Sid Norman's, heard such great music and vocals coming out of the room but could never see in person because it was wall to wall people, same issue with Comedy Club

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Room Steward "Rogue" was fantastic and for the most part I experiences excellent service, there were a few language barrier issues at guest services with us not being able to understand due to accent and had some communication issues with sail and sign card plus there were a couple of service issues in Indulge Food Hall with rudeness from those bringing food to the tables but overall nothing to alter my mood while on board

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I love this ship, it is so elegant and reminds me a boutique hotel. Every area I ever entered was always clean and well maintained, 8th floor Ocean Blvd was one of my favorite spots and had so many cool places to sit, laydown, swing or swim, just beautiful

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Loved this room, plenty of space and beautiful, my room steward was fantastic and always keep my room clean, the bathroom was fantastic and very large compared to other cruise lines, I was on deck 10 and probably would not pick this cabin again only because of the location near the mid rear of ship and the balcony overlooked the infinity pool on deck eight and during the day it could get loud and you didn't feel like you had much privacy because of the glass front balcony ledge, I would definitely go more mid or forward in the future

Ship tip

If you are not able to pre reserve your shows and dining make this a priority when get onboard as they sell out very quickly

Ports of call

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

4 out of 5
didn't spend much time on island because of my injury but did take in lunch which was very good and fresh at the buffet area and we visited the straw market for souvenirs, they were definitely more pricey than other straw markets ie: selling shot glasses for $10 each, way to much, and I refused to pay that price but I did need something for granddaughter and over paid for a festive dress which she will love, if I didn't need it I would not have bought it because is was greatly overpriced

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
mine was great because of circumstance but from someone looking in from the outside it seemed very unorganized and they should have given everyone assigned times to leave
