Review summary

Prima is a beautiful new ship with lots of exciting and inventive activities and spaces to try. We loved the race track and many of the new venues like Indulge Food Hall. There's no lack of outdoor space and nooks to sit and relax. Some of the interior spaces are a bit smaller than usual, but the service and food was excellent and provided an overall amazing experience.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The security and embarkation process was relatively quick and easy. We did not have to wait in line.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food itself was great. I loved the main dining in Hudson's. The atmosphere was lovely with huge windows (and I was a bit obsessed with the ceiling lighting in here). There were a lot of choices (mahi-mahi was excellent!). We were able to dine at Onda by Scarpetta, the Italian specialty restaurant. Recommend the flatbread as a shared appetizer, and the rest of dinner and dessert was delicious! The only reason for losing a star here is the buffet felt smaller and tighter than other buffet venues I've experienced.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The 3-level race track was incredibly fun, as were many of the other unique activities like the darts and mini-golf area (although they were still working out the kinks with the bluetooth-enabled golf balls). Galaxy pavilion is fun and different (although if you're prone to motion sickness, perhaps avoid some of the VR headset experiences). I experienced a massage in the spa which was lovely and would consider opting for a thermal suite pass next time to have access to the array of different areas inside the spa.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Really enjoyed The Price is Right experience. It was a shortened version of the TV show, and fun to be part of the audience!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service was excellent. Highly recommend the bartenders at the Whiskey Bar - they were our favorites!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship is both beautiful and clean. I appreciated the modern and tasteful design. The only reason for the loss of one star is some of the spaces (buffet, comedy club) felt a bit too small and crowded.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
My oceanview stateroom was both comfortable and spacious. My only complaint would be its location (under the theater) made it loud while shows were running.

Ports of call

Halifax, Nova Scotia

3 out of 5
We rode the hop on, hop off double decker buses, and visited the Maritime Museum and Titanic cemetery. I appreciated the history and tour, but think we could have spent more time on the cute boardwalk instead where there were several options for dining and shopping.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Disembarkation took a bit longer than on other cruises I've been on. We had to wait in line to exit, but was not too big of a deal.
