Review summary

Going into this cruise, i knew this was an older ship. That being said i was extremely dissapointed with almost everything they had to offer. The ship is OLD. Very little to do for kids(The kids area was barely even opened). They only offered water and tea for free drinks and they try to get you to buy a "Coke" card to use for "free" soft drinks throught the cruise. This card costs $63 and EVERY bartender/waiter HATED seeing the pass because they had to get me a free drink. If they offered fruit punch like CARNIVAL(MUCH BETTER CRUISE LINE) did last year for free i never would have bought this pass. Upon arrival to our rooms the first day, our pillow cases and sheets ALREADY had stains on them. We had to have our rooms made up before we even used them. Norwegian also STRONGLY encourages you to buy excursions through them before you get to your destination(Bermuda for us). We did this. This is a BIG mistake. We paid $77/each for an excursion to the crystal caves and aquarium. We also paid $57 for our 2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER!! Upon arrival at both places there's a big sign of prices. Both signs read, "5 Years old and Under FREE"!! We were PISSED. We also noted that if we had booked the excursion on the island ourselves, it would have only cost $49 for adults! Norwegian ripped us off, which we adults took responsibility for, but we wouldn't let them rip off our 2 year old daughter. We came back to the ship and fought tooth and nail with the Excursion Desk. They kept giving us the run-around telling us to talk to someone else each time. Then FREDERIK from the Excursion desk told us, "Well, we did provide transportation for her" Well guess what FREDERIK, Transportation in Bermuda for a 2 year old is also FREE. Finally, after 3 days, the Excursion Manager called our room and told us he wiped out the charge. We were NOT happy. The staff all cruise was 50/50. Some Exceptional, some poor and seemed new or just looking to make a buck. TV reception and options were POOR. We had to check our portfolio each day at the reception desk. Most premier cruise lines allow you to do this right on your TV. My Overall impression of Norwegian and the Majesty are piss poor. I was there with Friends and Family(8 total) and NONE of us will ever travel with them again and i strongly urge anyone else to avoid the mistake of doing so also. Carnival was LEAPS and BOUNDS above Norwegian. Anyone needing to Contact me personally to ask about ANYTHING about this cruise.....onegr8om@aol.com Send me an email, i'll gladly tell you all about it.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food tasted great, the options weren't very good. The 24 hour pizzeria never seems to have enough pizza!! Be careful.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Show's were NOTHING compared to Carnival's. Performers were very good and did their best with what they had to work with, but it was cramped and small.

Children's Programs

Don't bring kids on this ship. There was NOTHING to do for our daughter.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Like i said, 50/50. We just didn't know what to think of these people. Some exceptional(Nigel Stewart and Melania from the dining room to name a couple)

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Older ship, Staff most of the time didn't seem to care about anything. Not many smiles etc...Nigel Stewart, our waiter one night, being the exception! He was fabulous!

Cabin / Stateroom

Awful. First day we had to have our room re-made up. Stains on pillow cases and sheets. SMALL bathroom. Roomkeepers were fantastic.

Ports of call

St. George's, Bermuda

5 out of 5
Beautiful place, Bermuda MADE our trip. St. George's itself is more for the over 40 crowd. Hamilton(We passed by the town on the way back from an excursion) seems to be more Rockin' for the younger crowd(Myself included). Horseshoe Beach is a must see. IF you're going to do the Crystal Caves or Aquarium, book it yourself when you get to Bermuda. Norwegian RIPS YOU OFF! We easily paid more than $25 each than if we had booked ourselves. ALSO, buy the bus pass. Busses are and ADVENTURE in themselves there, but the drivers are very good. Its $20 for a 3 day pass and you can get ANYWHERE on the island with their good bus system. We ate at the WHITE HORSE Tavern. VERY GOOD food. We took the Ferry to Hamilton's Dockyard to see the old Military sight and Dolphins($8 admission and WAY worth it). Check this place out.
Don't Miss: Dockyard, Horseshoe beach, Downtown Hamilton.
