Review summary
Recommended for adults. Activities and facilities for younger ages are limited and some of our family were bored with not many passengers of their own younger ages.. Several meals in restaurant were not good. Beautiful ship for relaxing time. We prefer NCL Freestyle dining but wonder if the Jewel has as good food as other ships. Perhaps the Jewel is too much of a high-occupancy "hotel" than other NCL ships? My preference is the Sun in comparison to many other NCL ships and other cruiseline ships. We will cruise on the Pearl soon and if it is a disappointment like the Jewel, we will switch back to the Sun as the preferred ship. A food exception was the upper deck buffet which was excellent on the Jewel while almost all the other NCL ships' buffets are not very good and I avoid them if possible.. The entertainment on the Jewel was not as good as many other NCL ships.Pros: beautiful decor, new, big, fast
Cons: not enough activities or recreational facilities, not for young kids, teens. food not as good as other NCL ships? atrium not high, more of a floating hotel than other ships..
