Review summary

On the ship right now. In a balcony cabin aft on deck 15. The noise is unreal. I feel totally deceived as these rooms should be advertised as noisy. Spice H20 is right above us and lounge chairs are moving before 7am and music is playing until 1am. I called last night to voice my concern. No apology and zero follow-up today.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. One thing I have learned is to always book a cabin on a deck that has another cabin above and below. Once I was in the 2 bedroom family suit me on the Gem and we were directly under the gym....... wasn’t that bad but a little gym noise was heard. What else can you tell me about the Escape? My we go in a few weeks. I will be in the haven but my daughter is on deck 15 forward.

We had a balcony room on deck 8, right over the theatre where the show starts at 930. Bedtime. Perfect.

Out of All of the research I did, never once did anyone say it was so loud that their purse vibrates off the bed, or that the walls sounded like they were going to explode, or that your own deck chairs on your cabin actually moved from the vibration ! Had I read anything like that I seriously doubt I would’ve purchased the room ! I’m saying it, it’s so freakin loud it could wake the dead !!!!! I also explained in my first post that I require a handicap accessible cabin , unfortunately for us, there are not many to pick from

I did PLENTY of research Lobster !!! I’ll make it easy...we expected noise, we didn’t expect studio 54 inside our cabin. It was EXPLOSIVE, not your normal noise , even ten times normal noise , closing our door meant nothing ! When front desk staff came to our room, both of them agreed they’d never heard anything like it. That’s why they offered to move us. Don’t assume everyone but you is a buffoon ! We expected noise! We got dynamite

Dknarf, your cabin is nowhere near the H2O area, it won’t effect you in the slightest... Discussions about noise in this particular area is all over the web if you look for it, most folks who’ve been in the area say all you have to do is close the doors and you can hardly hear it... it appears some folks want the cabins in that area (which are amongst the best on the ship and attract a premium price due to their popularity) but they don’t want to bi-products... If you choose to book a cabin by the ‘night-club’ and beneath what is a popular daytime sun deck, you have to accept the impact those two essential amenities will create... The answer is if you don’t want morning or evening noise, do full research...

We have had aft deck 12 and yes you hear the music but it's not all nite. Always get a cabin with cabins above and below. First time on BA we were upgraded to a mini but it was over the jazz club. So every nite it seemed we heard the same music every nite. And that was a 12 day Cruise! Have since learned and been 5 more times.

Now we also had a side aft on 15 , very last room on the side. The noise was NOTHING compared to being aft facing right under the speakers on the big screen

That’s not the point. I research very well for my cruises. They shouldn’t cancel parties & It doesn’t look like anyone has suggested that. However, just as there are disclaimers for obstructed & partially obstructed oceanview & balcony cabins, we believe there should be one for the noise level in those particular cabins located directly under speakers. The noise isn’t just a little thudding , some chairs scraping or a little vibration which I expected, it’s almost as if you are in a nightclub in the cabin. It was surprising to us just how loud it was.

Always look at the deck plans or make sure you are not under the adult only areas and not under the garden cafe

Indicates inadequate research when selecting a cabin... The noise from parties on H2O is hardly a secret, and folks have posted about the effect of that on the Aft Balcony cabins previously... not sure what they expect the ship to do, cancel the parties?

Also, I did choose my cabin, but not thinking we would be directly under the big screen & it’s enormous speakers. There are a limited amount of handicap accessible cabins as well , so for me , I can’t afford to be as picky as others

We had that problem as well on The Breakaway. They did offer to move us, but I require a handicap room and there were none left to move us to. I wrote a letter when I got home & suggested they discount these cabins & label them as noisy. We were given a descent credit toward our next cruise
