Review summary

Amazing trip on the Escape last week in March 2018. Group of 9 with 5 children ages 9-17. Very busy ship but has something for everyone. Highlights of the cruise. Plan your week. If you want to be by the pool you need to get up early and get your chairs. They will be full by 730 but if you want to lay in the sun there are many places to go and do that. If you too the servers a buck or two they will make sure you never go thirsty. Edward on the pool deck is awesome. If you want to walk in the mornings don't use the track, it's very small and the runners make it difficult. Instead go to the waterfront on 9. It is very peaceful and they have the best views on the ship. 5 O'clock bar on the waterfront is a great place to go. Tappenyaki amazing. Cagneys is very good. La Cucina was also very good. Also ate at Food Republic which had surprisingly good sushi rolls. Manhattan Room has great atmosphere. O'Shehans was just ok, good filler food for the kids. Margarittaville serves limited free breakfast, fruit, cereal and omelette station without the crowds of the Buffett. The specialty restaurants were very accommodating for our group of 9. Just book right away and be flexible with your times. Orly guitar guy was amazing, Beau Tahana piano guy was also fun. District brewhouse had great beers. Dogfish 90 minute IPA on tap. Bar is adults only which was disappointing as the piano player played most of his sets there and were family friendly imo. Tobacco road has an amazing Old Fashion, must try. Cigar Lounge is full of cigarette smokers. If you smoke cigars, bring your own and go to Spice H20 bar or Upper Waves pool bar to smoke them. After Midnight show was not very good. For tendering go to guest services early in the morning the day before you tender and you will get on any tender you want. All staff was super friendly and help make you feel like you are on vacation. Roll with punches. Grand Stirrup Cay was cancelled. Went to Nassau a day early and spent the night there. Got to get off the ship and spent the evening at Senor Frogs. Close to port and fun. Rented a cabana at Palms Beach Club on 7 mile beach. $125 for a private cabana with shade and 5 lounge chairs. Great beach and safe to leave your things to enjoy the beach. You need to rent the cabana online prior to your cruise as they fill up. Love beach on Nassau is awesome. $20 per person cab ride. Beach is far from the cruise crowds and beach is beautiful. Ask the taxi to stop on the way and pick up snacks and drinks as beach is pretty limited. Nice thing was our driver did not let us pay him until we were picked up and back at the ship. Ask for Edward, great driver and will give you a tour on the way out of town. Jamaica port was fun and had the best shopping for deals. Kids loved the slides on the ship. Lines were very manageable. Prior to our trip we read hundreds of reviews, good and bad. Thanks to everyone who wrote them. Remember. Plan ahead. Tip your wait staff and bartenders once in a while, trust me it makes all the difference. Be patient and remember you are sharing the ship with 4500 others who are also on vacation. And parents. Please be with your kids in the hot tubs, there was a day with 27 kids in one tub. Not kidding. Sorry for being so long. Jason
