Review summary

Bedbugs day 1. Kicked out of my room at 11 pm and all my belongings were confiscated. Moved to a lessor room with smaller balcony. Belongings were returned in bags after being laundered. We received a few complimentary passes but everything was sold out so the "compensation" was worthless. This will likely be our last cruise.....

People jump from A to Z. Bed bugs travel in luggage, etc. One does not mean infestation and there is a possibility that it came in with the traveler. Cruisers come from all around the world and so do bed bugs. To fight these critters, I travel with alcohol and a small bag of Diatomaceous Earth which I sprinkle on the bed and pillows. Bed bugs don't like that stuff.

@cazzz. What happened after they put you in another cabin and washed all of your clothes? Did they give you other compensation? Did you make a formal complaint to NCL?

I'm still as equally excited about our Thanksgiving cruise. Indeed it is a bed bug. They can be found under furniture, picture frames, and so on. I know a Little after 4 years scheduling the jobs. It happens! A few means no infestation equals Great

Ahh you're wrong I'm not saying 100% that this particular bug is a bed bug..but the adults can get that big. And the larva stage is white and so small they are hard to see . Not hear to argue but do criticize others. You were not there.

Hate to tell you fools but that is not a bed bug! That is a bug on a bed but not a BED BUG. Bed bugs are tiny peck looking critters that stay close to the seams and there are a multitude of them. That is a common beetle type bug that you crush between you finger and listen for the crunch. Stop the hype.

Strip the bed upon entering. Inspection helps. Bugs of any kind are common in tropical areas. If it is a concern I would look for peace of mind.

I work in healthcare...the chances that there are no bed bugs, lice, roaches, etc. on ANY cruise or in any hotel is really slim, people...strong alcohol spray is useful, but can ruin shoes and clothes. I'm sure all that can be done is done to rid the ship of pests. It's unfortunate but this is the planet earth and critters are everywhere!

Bed bugs are a killjoy! They travel in clothing, luggage, etc. There is a change they passenger was traveling with them.

They could live for so long without feeding. So it doesn't mean they were just brought on. You can get them by waiting in the waiting room of a doctor's office. They happen more then most of us know. Doesn't make you a dirty person at all. I work at a Pest control company and see it on a daily basis at some of the most expensive houses too.

I would Def complain to the cruise line as well as guest services. I don't blame you for saying last cruise, but maybe a different line. I would let them know compensation should be a refund of the current cruise and not money off a future cruise. this is unacceptable

My fear is usually never the room. It's having my luggage stock piled! If someone else has them on their suitcase and they are left together too long you can carry them home. Like when debarking and you go in to find your luggage! Or like this weekend I'm going to NYC by bus. All our luggage will be under the bus crammed together for 6 hours!

All I can tell you..check edging around mattress...check lamp shades..pictures on the wall. People are made to believe they only hide on mattresses. That's not true. Never put your luggage on bed..floor actually if you can check room before you even take your luggage in. Bed bugs don't jump or fly. Even if they are in the room it could take a good 30-40 mins before they get on you or or stuff. If you see any brown or blood like spots or streaks on sheets..leave the room. There are bed bugs.
