Review summary
Let me preface this review by stating that we have sailed Celebrity, NCL, and Princess prior to this trip. We were particularly attracted to this trip as it was a last minute decision, and being a NH resident, we needed no air transportation, a big plus in terms of cost. Having read the previously posted reviews on this trip/ship, I must admit there were no surprises. Checking in was a bit tedious but the excitement of going on vacation usually gets us past that. On our return, disembarkation was efficiently swift. For an older ship she is in good repair. Her age shows more in size, design, etc. than in condition. Big disappointment was no room refrigerator. VO had told us there were none, NCL told us there was one in every NCL cabin. As this is one of NCL's stretched ships, the addition of the mid-section makes her a little difficult to navigate. We ate most of our meals, breakfast/lunch/dinner, in the dining room. Service was not necessarily fast, but we were on vacation and didn't mind the relaxed pace. We found the buffet to be weak at best. We did room service a couple of times and enjoyed it and the service was reasonably prompt. St. George is kind of a quiet port. Due to the potential presented by hurricane Bertha, we left St. George a night early and sailed over to Hamilton (what the captain jokingly called an excursion) where we spent our last night and the following morning. Lots more going on their and it worked out well for us. Between all-inclusives and cruises, we have been to the Carribean on at least a dozen occasions. I thought we had seen the most beautiful waters in the world until we took this trip tp Bermuda. The color of the waters is absolutely incredible. Enjoyed St. Catherine's Beach but due to the rip tides created by Bertha, it was our only beach day. Spent the rest of the time by the ship's pool at the rear of the ship. (Wish that, as in many ships we have been on, that this pool were designated adults only.) We had an oceanview cabin with picture window, the 1st time in some time we did not get a balcony and it worked out nicely. The fact that it was on Deck 6 gave us a quiet getaway. By no means our finest cruise, but overall a pretty good bang for the buck.Ship experiences
