Review summary

Had a great time All in All. Bermuda was breathtaking and amazing. I was extremely disappointed in how Guest services deflect and don't resolve any issues with the passengers. My friends were not the only ones with issues. There are always problems with older ships, but its how they are resolved is what matters.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Being a Lattitudes reward member, the embarkation process was very quick and easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Specialty restaurants (Cagney's and Teppanyaki) were very good. The Teppanyaki was the best show I have seen. The chef was singing and kept our full attention the whole time. Best part of the cruise. As for the buffets, they seemed to have the same thing everyday and mediocre at best. As for the Main Dining room, the beef short ribs were excellent other than that I was not "wowed". O'Sheehans was very good for a quick app or lunch.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

5 out of 5
PJ Wen was great. Also the Dancers were amazing in the two shows we seen. The Newlywed game made us laugh the whole time.

Children's Programs

2 out of 5
Our children didn't care for the kids club. Carnival has much more in activities. They also close the club from 12 - 2 and 5 - 7. Every time we tried to use it, it was either closed or didn't give us enough time as adults to do anything other than plan to pick up our children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Wahu at Cagney's is top notch. Jose from Philly (teppanyaki chef - although I don't think I got his real name) was the best I have seen ever. And of course, Everyone Loves "Washy Washy" in the buffet area.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
After coming on the Carnival Horizon in April, The Dawn left me wanting more. Although it was pretty clean the service staff was very good.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Cabin was clean, but seemed smaller than balcony cabins I have had in the past.

Ship tip

Hope you don't have any issues or problems. Let me elaborate. We didn't have any issues fortunately, but we went with three other families. One family in our group had the fire alarm go off four days straight. The first time it was in the middle of the night. They would send someone to make sure the ship wasn't on fire, shut it off and leave. We went to Guest services numerous times to complain and all we got was the run around. I , being a return cruiser to NCL, got involved. The supervisor Alex kept deflecting and their answer after four days of my friends having to deal with this was to send six chocolate covered strawberries to their room. I asked to talk to Alain the Hotel Director and all I got was he was too busy. What ever happened to take care of the customer and the customer is always right. Very subpar and disappointed. This has definately put a black mark on NCl for me.

Great review. Had the same problems with Customer Service. Not a Latitudes member but had no trouble walking off ship with our luggage in tow, except we thought Customs would only want our Passport and had to find our key cards. Teen program is much better because they were old enough to gather on there own, once they got to know each other. We had a hard time pulling them away from their other “family”.
