Review summary

We left New York one hour late and then sat in the lower bay for another hour and one half. The next day we were told we had a problem with the propulsion system and were going to Virginia instead of Florida and the Bahamas. After sitting in Virginia for three nights, we went back to New York in a horrendous storm. Luckily, after a petition was isssued to the captain, we were able to get a full refund and 25 percent off a future cruise. Now for the good stuff. The people were great. The ship was beautiful and clean. Our steward was friendly and accommodating. The staff tried their best to keep the kids occupied as much as possible. We will definately cruise with Norweigen again but we will have to watch the Dawn before we book this ship again.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
We stayed away from the food in the buffets. It was of fair quality and was cold by the time we found a seat. The sit down restaurants were very good. The service was excellent.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
We liked the magic show, the dancing and the juggler. The comedy and singers needed a little more work on their acts.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff tried their best to keep the kids entertained considering we were stuck in Virginia from Monday to Thanksgiving Day with one azipod still not working.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was beatiful and very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The room was very nicely laid out.

Pros: The ship was beautiful and very clean. The staff was wonderful, considering the circumstances

Cons: We should have never left New York until the azipod (propulsion system)was fixed.
