Review summary

We flew in from the UK this being our 1st time in NYC and we sailed 27th November ( My Birthday ) really thought this was going to be something special but how wrong was I

The Bars and Bar staff were wonderful but the whole ship was let down by the Main Dining rooms they just could not cope , the staff were running round chasing their tails . Our 1st night my Birthday we left the dining room before we even got a desert menu as getting a starter and a main meal took 2 hours .They should keep the Breakaway for the Mini cruises as it cannot cope when the ship is full on a longer cruise

Cabin excellent , Mini suite although only difference between this and a balcony is a slightly larger bathroom ( double sink ) The Room steward was excellent

That's too bad! We were on a few wks ago and had dinner at Manhattan Room twice. Both times food was out pretty quick and when I was wavering between two options--steak frites vs Pot Roast--and settled on the steak, waitress ended up ordering both for me. I was actually glad she did because it was REALLY good, very tender and delicious. I had to share with my hubby since I was getting full but we both thought it was great. Maybe try one of the smaller ships next time, as I've heard from others that those are very nice also!

never had that problem with a specialty dinner at Cagney's Steakhouse! very good service and little wait when I went on the Breakaway early Nov 2015

Agree that the time spent dining in the Manhattan room is too long. Like clferr, I opt for the smaller restaurant or buffet. Life is too short to wait on food.

I hope slower service in one restaurant didn't ruin your whole cruise ! That would be a shame

We have been on the longer cruise and had no problems. We had dinner one nite in the Manhattan room and decided it was too much. So we stick with Taste and Savor.
