This cruise (NYC to Bermuda) on Norwegian's new Breakaway was our 6th cruise (all booked through ). It was our 4th trip with NCL. Overall, this was a fantastic cruise! NCL upgraded our cabin to a family mini-suite, which was large and beautifully decorated. Huge bathroom and very comfortable bed. The ship overall is very well designed --- for such a huge ship, it was among the easiest to get around. Entertainment was fantastic, the food wonderful (with one exception of Ocean Blue) and the service was unbelievable.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
BREAKFAST: We ate at the Garden Buffet every morning. We were amazed at the extraordinary quality of the breakfasts! The Eggs Benedict were PERFECT (Master Chef quality!). Thick french toast\, pecan muffins .... just great.
LUNCH: Every lunch either at the buffet or at the main dining rooms were consistently excellent.
DINNER: The dinners at the main dining areas (particularly the Manhattan Club) were fantastic -- we enjoyed every meal 100%. We ate at Cagney's Steak House twice --- the Ribeye and New York Strip steaks were thick\, juicy and flavorful. The meals and service were superb. One evening we ate at the Ocean Blue restaurant\, the only disappointment of the trip. The problem were the main dishes. We ordered monkfish\, which was overcooked (dry) and salty and had to be returned to the kitchen. We then had the sole\, which lacked flavor and was not at all enjoyable. NCL reimbursed the cost of the meal; we greatly appreciated the efforts of the staff who were very apologetic
Entertainment

What great entertainment! The jungle-themed circus/dinner event was amazing\, and the Rock of Ages show was fantastic! We enjoyed the comedy of Second City and had fun dancing outside after the fireworks on the 4th of July.

All crew members were exceptionally friendly\, cheerful and helpful.
Ship Quality

It was a great experience sailing on a brand new ship. The overall layout of the vessel was cleverly done --- very easy access to all areas (better than many smaller ships). Much of our cruise was spent in the spa area (we bought the week-long spa package for $199 each). Worth EVERY PENNEY! The spa is a very luxurious area facing the front of the ship (with huge picture windows). Its a \"private oasis\" with comfortable lounge chairs\, a fantastic warm-water pool (with button-activated jets and bubblers) and a variety of different types of saunas. A luxurious\, quiet area away from the crowds and kids. Perfect for reading\, relaxing and dosing off ....
Cabin / Stateroom

The family mini-suite was the best stateroom we've ever had on any cruise. It was large (with a Queen-size bed and sofa)\, and an enormous bathroom.
Pros: Beautifully designed new ship with great staterooms and wonderful service
