Review summary

Got back on Saturday from our Alaskan Cruise. I really enjoyed the theater shows and entertainment. Jacky the cruise director was amazing and I don't know what happened the the Co director Dan Dan. He disappeared half way thru the cruise. No a Beetles fan but I watched Beetlemainia live. It was good if you grew up listening to them. Really enjoyed food republic and the MDR and the Garden Cafe... Q and Los lobos no so much. I want to return to alaska again on the NCL JOY. We had a mini suite, other than the shower I did not see a reason to upgrade. My only gripe was a critical medical emergency, but a decision was made not to airlift the passenger off of the ship. They decided to wait over 10 hours to get him medical attention and disrupt glacier cruising for everyone else. The early arrival in Juneau made up for it but I feel like critical emergencies require urgent attention.

We were on that cruise also. Bummed about Glacier but feel terrible about the guy falling down the stairs. 😔

Didn't eat in the main dining room this time, ate in Taste and it was very good. Took advantage of specials in garden cafe, very good.

Question for you, as I’ve seen you’ve cruise with NCL a lot........Was the main dining room menu the same as past NCL cruises? Just curious as we’ve done the Getaway, but are doing the Bliss next. Thanks

I was on the ship too, really enjoyed it. We had dinner with ship officers with our platinum plus status. I asked them about the emergency. First of all we watched it from our balcony with binoculars, medical personnel boarded the ship, then more medical personnel and did not bring the passenger off the ship, he passed and was put into the morgue in the ship. The US Coast Guard makes the call about airlifting our going to closest port. I feel the crew did the best they could.
